“Özyeğin University Artificial Intelligence Platform” Brings Together the Public, Private Sector and Academia

Özyeğin University Rector Prof. Dr. Barış Tan attended the launch of the “Özyeğin University Artificial Intelligence Platform” held at Swissôtel The Bosphorus on June 12, 2025.

The platform, which is the first of its kind in Türkiye, is based on strong collaborations established with leading business representatives of Turkey such as Anadolu Group, Credit Europe Bank NV, Credit Europe Bank Russia, Credit Europe Bank Suisse, FIBA, FIBA ​​Perakende, FİBABANKA, Gelecek Varlık, Hitit, Hepsiburada, İş Bankası, KoçDigital, Lenovo, Mavi Jeans, Migros, Pegasus, QNB Finansbank, TAV, Trendyol and Yıldız Holding, as well as Koç University, Sabancı University and Berkeley Haas Institute for Business Innovation, which stand out with their research and development in artificial intelligence.

Özyeğin University Rector Prof. Dr. Barış Tan, in his opening speech at the launch, said, “With our vision of “Entrepreneurial Research University with High Global Impact”, we have become a center that produces information and solutions in regions such as Turkey, the Middle East, Central Asia and Europe. We position the Artificial Intelligence Platform as an output of our understanding of producing pioneering solutions for sectoral transformation through collective action.”

Özyeğin University Vice Rector for Research, Innovation and Impact Prof. Dr. İrşadi Aksun said the following about the platform: “Our platform focuses on three axes: general artificial intelligence issues that address new technological developments with ethical and legal dimensions; horizontal and vertical solutions specific to the sector that transform the processes of the business world. This comprehensive step, which combines all of these features in one pot, will enable us to develop joint projects by combining our strengths by bringing together the sector, the public and academia.”

The platform will discuss the possible effects of artificial intelligence in sectors such as finance, retail, manufacturing, IT and media and provide an environment for the implementation of innovative applications.
