OzU AI Platform continues to bridge Özyeğin University’s academic expertise in artificial intelligence with the real-world experience of industry. The Platform held its second event of this year, bringing together some of the most influential leaders in finance and AI.
The summit welcomed a distinguished roster of participants, including Hüsnü M. Özyeğin, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Özyeğin University; Murat Özyeğin, Chairperson of the Board and Executive Committee at Fiba Group, and Prof. Barış Tan, President of Özyeğin University. The event also featured leading voices from across the global AI and financial ecosystem, including Kjersten Margaret Moody, CEO of Elai and former CDO of Prudential Financial and State Farm; Hamit Hamutcu, Co-Editor of the Industry Column at Harvard Data Science Review; Can Bakır, CEO of İş Bank AI Startup Factory; Sezin Ünlüdoğan, CEO of Gelecek Varlık; Ömer Gürcan Köseoğlu, CEO of Allianz Trade Türkiye; Süleyman Onay, Managing Director of Colendi; Dr. Levent Güntay, Academic Director of the Center for Financial Engineering at Özyeğin University; Alper Gökgöz, CEO of ING Türkiye; Ömer Mert, CEO of Fibabank; and Temel Güzeloğlu, Board Member of QNB Bank.
In his opening remarks, President Prof. Barış Tan emphasized that universities must go beyond knowledge creation to actively transform knowledge into societal and economic value. He underscored that OzU AI Platform serves as a powerful collaboration model that brings academia and industry together around a shared vision of collective intelligence.
The program continued with a fireside conversation moderated by Hamit Hamutcu, where Kjersten Margaret Moody shared her insights and projections on the technology-driven transformation of the financial sector, drawing on her extensive leadership experience across global institutions.
This was followed by the panel “AI in Non-Bank Financial Institutions Speed and Agility in Fintech, Insurance and Asset Management with AI” Moderated by Can Bakır, the session brought together Sezin Ünlüdoğan, Ömer Gürcan Köseoğlu, and Süleyman Onay. The panelists explored how artificial intelligence is redefining customer experience and operational efficiency across diverse sectors, highlighting real-world transformation stories from their respective fields.
The event concluded with a final panel, “Banking Leadership in the Age of AI: Challenges, Opportunities, and Transformation from the Perspective of Executives,” moderated by Dr. Levent Güntay. In this session, Alper Gökgöz, Ömer Mert, and Temel Güzeloğlu offered their perspectives on AI investments, organizational transformation, risk management, and the emergence of new business models in banking.
